THIS SITE IS
DEDICATED TO THINGS RELATED TO THE MONARCH THEATRE THAT WAS
RECENTLY RE-OPENED IN MEDICINE HAT.
INTRODUCTION
This not-for-profit society was formed late in 2009 after the theatre was purchased by the City Centre Development Agency (CCDA) with funding provided by the City of Medicine Hat. The theatre was built in 1911 and saw service through most of the years since then with the odd exception, including what could have been its final closure in 2005. Hopefully, it has now been rescued permanently as a true historic site and attractive aspect of downtown.
